Raptors seeking new leader In addition to dealing with the losses of a girls golf coach and volleyball coach, East Ridge activities director Trent Hanson has been keeping busy with the task of finding a new head football coach after the departure of Ray Betton, who vacated the position after just one season to take the same job at Holy Angels in Richfield last month.

"We're looking to take care of football and find our new coach this month," he said.

The East Ridge AD said that after receiving many applications over the past several weeks, that the first round of interviews will begin next week with approximately "six to eight" candidates expected to be interviewed.

"We will have a combination of candidates from both in and out of the district," he noted. "We will be interviewing candidates with an extensive amount of head coaching experience as well as some up-and-comers and celebrated assistants."

Hanson declined to elaborate as to the roster of candidates, but among those rumored to be interested in the position include 2009 Raptors offensive coordinator Mike Pandino and Woodbury assistant Jamie Jankowski.
